What You Need to Know About CEREC® Technology!
The introduction of CEREC® 3D technology in the daily routine of dental clinics was a major leap forward in digital dentistry. With CEREC® in 33548, we make the process of designing, fabricating and placing implants much faster, more comfortable and safer for patients. Let’s see how this technology works.
How Does the CEREC® Machine Work?
The CEREC® machine creates a precise duplicate of your teeth. Your dentist uses this machine to take X-rays and pictures of your mouth to start the procedure, which uses the data to build a 3D model of your mouth. The sections of the model that require correction are subsequently highlighted by the computer-aided design (CAD) program.
The machine will produce the restorative piece from a ceramic block after the 3D model has been highlighted and the regions that need to be restored have been identified. The machine-made component will then be colored to match your real teeth.
How Long Does It Take?
Typically, the CEREC® machine completes a crown in 20 minutes. Your dentist will get you ready for the procedure while the CEREC® machine works on the necessary pieces. In total, the entire process, making the crown and placing it, will take around 2 hours.
What Do We Get with This Technology?
- Speed, since it’s possible to manufacture crowns and bridges the same day the digital records are taken.
- Accuracy, since the digital records are more precise than the traditional ones, improving the fit, occlusion and esthetics. It allows you to see the crown preparation in 3 dimensions.
- Comfort, since the process starts by taking records of the mouth in 3D with the intraoral scanner, avoiding the uncomfortable pastes of the traditional process.
